Shanghai Pudong International Airport is the largest international airport in Shanghai, people's Republic of China. Shanghai Pudong International Airport was built on 1 October 1999 and is situated 30 kilometres east of downtown Shanghai. The other major airport in Shanghai, Hongqiao, which mainly serves domestic flights. There are domestic and international flights from the airport to the main cities in the country and abroad, as well as cargo flights.

Before the opening of the Shanghai Pudong International Airport, Shanghai Hongqiao international airport is the main airport of shanghai.
